Social Media Contest for ESP Online for Macs

Filed under: Community, Industry Initiatives, Member Benefits, News About ASI

I’m the chief technology officer for ASI and I’m also a Mac user, so I’m especially excited that we’re developing ESP Online for Macs that will be available soon to the advertising specialty industry.

To be among the first to be notified when the new ESP Online for Macs is available, register here.  And we’re starting the celebration early by giving away a $250 American Express gift card – good as cash – in a drawing among users who engage with us in social media.  Just share your comments about the new ESP Online for Macs, or any other ASI product if you’re not a Mac user.  Tell us what you think.

Enter the contest three ways:

–  Post a comment right here on Tim’s blog about the new ESP Online for Macs or any other ASI product.  You might tell us how we’re helping, or what you’d like us to start providing.

–  Visit ASI’s Facebook page here and become a fan – click the icon at the top with the plus sign that says “Become a fan.”

–  Go to Tim’s Twitter page here, and become a follower by clicking the “Follow” button.

If you’re already a fan of ASI’s Facebook or a follower on Tim’s Twitter – or both – you’re automatically entered.  You can still post a comment here on the blog for an extra entry.  If you don’t have these accounts, visit the sites through the links above to get your free account.

The new ESP Online for Macs will run right on your operating system – no Windows required and no third-party software needed (like Parallels).

If you don’t use ESP Online and you have a Mac, using ESP will change the way you do business.  It allows suppliers to feature their products for distributors, and allows distributors to quickly search and find the best promotional products for their end-buyer clients among nearly every product in the industry.

Watch these sites for more information about ESP Online for Macs, and let me hear from you.  Enter the contest – it’s open now through November 30, 2009 (rules).

– Keith

Keith Tuskey is the chief technology officer for ASI.

I can hardly wait. I absolutely hate trudging into the other office to use the only PC in our office which runs only two or three programs, one of which is ESP.

I think it is great. I use ESP on my Mac, but run Windows Vista on Parallels on my Intel Mac. Will be nice not to have to load Windows.

  5. Kim Says:

I have been waiting for this for years. I’m so excited. I’ll probably continue to use it on the PC. I’ve gotten use to being able to view ESP on one screen and enter info on another computer. However, it will be great to have on my laptop and able to access when I’m out of the office.

Can’t wait. Am a dedicated Mac user and was disappointed when I signed up for ESP and found I had to use Windows.

I will be at the Dallas show and I want a demo there too! Aside from that, Kim I wanted to say that I have ESP onine now too, and have a second monitor hooked up to my iMac and put ESP online with Parallels running XP and use it much like you describe and I love, love it. Have order program and safari open on main monitor. What an efficiency boost. Thanks ASI for doing this

I know I’m supposed to smile and say “Attaboy, ASI”, but as a diehard mac user for years, and every year questioning ASI reps about the pc-only interface, only to be told that there was no real need for it, I’ll just be grateful that it’s finally coming.

The ASI solutions of either buying expensive emulation software or using CD’s were not acceptable. We do emulate PC’s presently, but the expense should not have been necessary and the solution is cumbersome.

I can’t applaud this long-awaited and still-awaited solution as great responsiveness on the part of ASI.

With the prevalence of Macs in the art and graphics world, this is a welcome development! No more running to the one PC in our office to check ESP!

Ditto!!!! I have been asking for this for years. Mac is the preferred operating system in the rest of the advertising and graphics industry. I don’t know why Ad Specialties is any different!
    It’s about time……. I need it now!

I am so glad this is finally happening. When Tim asked a few months ago what they could do to make ASI/ESP better this was number one on my list. I am so excited I can get rid of the PC in my office. Please get this out ASAP!

  23. Anna Zifcak Says:

Thank goodness! I also had to go to another office to use ESP, so I was unable to fully utilize the features. It was always, check my pricing, get in, get out and back to work. Now I can be on ESP and take advantage of the Promo Cafe and other features I simply didn’t have time for when I wasn’t in my own office. Macs are the way of the future, they are easier, less confusing and buggy than PC’s. We have used them in the office for years and only keep a couple of “dinosaur PC’s” around for programs that are PC only.

  24. Jena Palmby Says:

I think I see a PC vs Mac commercial being generated for the Mac version of ESP.

  25. Iris Kabert Says:

Great, great news! Can’t wait to get ESP on my Mac — yep, I’m one of those MAC “converts” (about a year and a half now) and I’ll never ever go back to Windows …

  26. Pam Taylor Says:

This is great news! It’s almost time for a new computer and I was hoping this was on the horizon.
    Finally a Mac!

  27. Ron Goodwin Says:

Seeing the full page ad in Advantages this am restored my faith in ASI. I’m a loyal Apple user and loyal ASI member but was offended when the DVD/MAC solution was dropped without notice after i had sign up for another year of the crippled version of ESP for the minority MAc users. My protest were met with “We have no plans for MAC online ESP, get over it and buy a PC or install Parallels or Bootcamp. ” ” But I paid you guys for another year of DVD’s”
so I held my nose installed Parallels. That solution was not successful and since i’d crossed the divide, Sage was looking good.
Thank you for listening… my faith is restored

  28. Connie Jones Says:

Finally! Now just one more request. Since most reps are not always in front of their computer in the office (may be at home or on the road) is there any way you can make esp for Mac accessible from whatever mac we are using? Having to wait until I am back in the office to search is a real time waster.

  29. Joanna Morse Says:

I just recently bought a mac! Perfect timing! When I bought the mac I didn’t even know I wouldn’t be able to use ESP on it. I am SOOO happy I can get rid of my PC!

  30. Craig Maddox Says:

I’m very excited about ESP for MAC! However I feel it is long over due, with this industry relying so heavily on art, and such a large portion of art being created on a MAC you would think that ASI would have had a MAC solution along time ago( being a far better system). MAC will never have the problems that windows had, has, or will have trust me. Lol. Hey better late than never.

  31. Kyle Zemlicka Says:

I’m very much looking forward to the Mac version of ESP being released. Given that I run all my other apps on my Mac, it will be very nice to work from the same machine without resorting to Bootcamp or Parallels.

  33. Misty Pavicich Says:

My company just recently canceled my ESP registration because I use a MAC and did not want to purchase windows just so I could use it. Now if I want to use ESP I have to drive 35 minutes to our home office. MAC users have rights too :-) I can’t wait to have ESP on my lap top!!!
