{"id":183,"date":"2009-11-03T15:08:39","date_gmt":"2009-11-03T19:08:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/timandrewsblog-asicentral.com\/timblog\/2009\/11\/03\/2009-power-50-announced\/"},"modified":"2009-11-03T15:09:44","modified_gmt":"2009-11-03T19:09:44","slug":"2009-power-50-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timandrewsblog-asicentral.com\/timblog\/2009\/11\/03\/2009-power-50-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"2009 Power 50 Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s almost too easy to use superlatives when describing a company&#8217;s top players. \u00a0After all, they reached the apex because they&#8217;re the best at what they do. \u00a0The men and women on this year&#8217;s <em>Counselor <\/em>Power 50 list &#8211; announced last night at the ASI Power Summit &#8211; truly deserve every accolade. \u00a0Each one is an industry ace.<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.asicentral.com\/asp\/open\/EducationAndEvents\/power50_2009.aspx\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/timandrewsblog-asicentral.com\/timblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/Power_50.jpg\" class=\"right\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year, in recognition of the biggest industry news story of the year &#8211; BIC&#8217;s acquisition of Norwood &#8211; the No. 1 spot honors both Nicolas Paillot, general manager of BIC Group (<em>asi\/40480<\/em>), and Paul Lage, president of Norwood Promotional Products.<\/p>\n<p>The other top-ranked executives in the 2009 <em>Counselor<\/em> Power 50 ranking include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marty Lott, president of SanMar (<em>asi\/84863<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Greg Muzzillo and Vera Muzzillo, co-CEOs of Proforma (<em>asi\/300094<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Marc Simon, CEO of Halo\/Lee Wayne (<em>asi\/356000<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Gene Geiger and Jo-an Lantz, CEO and executive vice president, respectively, of Geiger (<em>asi\/202900<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I&#8217;m also happy to say that there are 14 newcomers, including Derek Block, CEO of Touchstone (<em>asi\/345631<\/em>); Maribeth Sandford, CEO of Bag Makers (<em>asi\/37940<\/em>); and Anthony Corsano, CEO of Anvil (asi<em>\/36350<\/em>). \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What I like best is the democracy of the voting system. \u00a0While the exact ranking is determined by <em>Counselor <\/em>editorial experts, they rely heavily on the survey sent to all of you, asking which names go on or off and which names move up or down.
