{"id":487,"date":"2010-08-05T13:43:57","date_gmt":"2010-08-05T17:43:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/timandrewsblog-asicentral.com\/timblog\/?p=487"},"modified":"2010-08-05T13:43:57","modified_gmt":"2010-08-05T17:43:57","slug":"lessons-on-leadership-and-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timandrewsblog-asicentral.com\/timblog\/2010\/08\/05\/lessons-on-leadership-and-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Lessons on Leadership and Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anyone who follows the news is familiar with the tarnished image of many CEOs. \u00a0Determined to counter the stereotype of out-of-touch executives, entrepreneur Scott Rosen interviewed a number of Philadelphia-area business leaders for a new book called \u201cWisdom at the Top: Lessons on Leadership and Life from 35 CEOs.\u201d I\u2019m humbled to be included in the collection.<\/p>\n<p>Rosen says he wrote the book to pay homage to \u201cRocky\u201d stories of CEOs who came up through the ranks, overcame challenges and achieved success.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lessons I\u2019ve learned during my career are the same lessons<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/timandrewsblog-asicentral.com\/timblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/images\/wisdom.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/> revealed by the CEOs in this book,\u201d says Rosen, himself the CEO of a successful staffing company. \u201cFollow your passions, have the courage to take risks and, whether you\u2019re sweeping the floor, making coffee at Starbucks or running a million-dollar organization, do the best you can and good things will happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That pretty much sums up my own philosophy. In my interview, I talk about growing up in rural Indiana as well as the value of listening, mentoring and fostering a corporate culture based on openness and transparency.
