The inaugural ASI Power Summit<\/a> started and we just completed an interactive \u2013 and at times provocative \u2013 full first day. The Summit is a meeting of nearly 200 top leaders from our industry and others, and the goal is to turn timely ideas into action to make business and our industry better.<\/p>\n

One of the featured panelist sessions was the “Distributor & Supplier Roundtable,” an open discussion focusing on issues affecting distributors, suppliers and end-buyers – including sourcing products from China, the controversies of recruiting, product liability, compliance and safety, and forming the vision for what is going to change in the next ten years.<\/p>\n

Panelists included Gregg Emmer from Kaeser & Blair Inc., Jonathan Isaacson from Gemline, Dolly Duffy from Atchison Products (a division of BIC Graphic USA), Kellie Claudio from Ashworth Inc., Ross Silverstein of iPROMOTEu, Craig Callaway from ecompanyStore, and me as the moderator.<\/p>\n

Also, tonight we revealed the Counselor<\/em> Power 50 ranking for 2007 \u2013 the second annual list of the most influential and innovative leaders in the advertising specialty industry that is sure to spark debate in coming days.pan>Twelve leaders are new to this year\u2019s ranking and you may be surprised who they are.<\/p>\n

Paul Lage, president of Norwood Promotional Products, was named the number-one influential leader in the new ranking \u2013 and he was also recognized as ASI\u2019s Person of the Year at the Counselor Awards in July.<\/p>\n

Paul originally stepped into the role of president \u2013 asked for it, in fact – a role that truly had never known success prior to his arrival. He came on-board at Norwood and immediately addressed the most pressing issues of poor customer service.<\/p>\n

Today, he\u2019s at the top of the Power 50 for repairing relationships with clients and colleagues who were at one time losing faith and losing patience with Norwood, and he\u2019s picked up the pieces and is now delivering the long-promised “Positive Norwood Experience.”<\/p>\n
