We also published the letter in our magazines.<\/p>\n<p>In response, I received a flood of emails. The compliments made me proud. The detractors made me doubly determined to do an even better job for our customers \u2013 rightly described by one publication as, \u201can unpaid army of advocates.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In today\u2019s Twitterific world, online customer opinions are as potent as New Year\u2019s Eve punch. And if you didn\u2019t learn that lesson in 2010, make it your No. 1 resolution for 2011. Social networking is so hot, people are trading texts instead of kisses\u00a0as the ball drops at midnight nowadays. Talk about new age.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, 2010 was a good year for the promotional products industry. During the downturn, our industry lost thousands of sales reps \u2013 and about $4 billion. But we\u2019ve definitely turned a corner. Through the first nine months of 2010, the ad specialty industry expanded by 8.2%.<\/p>\n<p>Full speed ahead!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve got a terrific year ahead of us, which starts next month at our big show in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asishow.com\/11Orlando\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Orlando<\/a> January 23-25. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asishow.com\/11Orlando\/Keynote.html\" target=\"_blank\">Michael J. Fox<\/a> is our keynoter, and we\u2019re also counting on participants to help us break a Guinness World Record for most people to dance the Twist with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asishow.com\/11Orlando\/PeppermintTwist.html\" target=\"_blank\">Peppermint Twist-Off<\/a> featuring chart-topper Joey Dee.<\/p>\n<p>How\u2019s that for a fun start to the 2011 selling season? After that, it\u2019s smooth sailing all the way to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asishow.com\/11Dallas\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Dallas<\/a> Feb. 16-18, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asishow.com\/11NewYork\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">New York<\/a> March 22-24, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asishow.com\/11SanDiego\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">San Diego<\/a> May 18-20 and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.asishow.com\/11Chicago\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Chicago<\/a> July 19-21.<\/p>\n<p>No matter how you celebrate the New Year \u2013 whether it\u2019s with champagne, spiked prune juice or a good book by the fire \u2013 I hope it\u2019s a happy one for you and yours.
